Temple Audio ECO Preamp

The Temple Audio ECO Preamp is a compact passive stereo pre-amplifier designed for simple, transparent control of a high quality HiFi system.

The ECO takes a deliberately uncomplicated approach, with a short signal path and a low component count. It also means we can build the ECO to our usual high standards, using genuine components throughout, while maintaining a reasonable price.

It can be a perfect match with our Bantam Stealth, Monoblocks, or Bantam Gold (bypassed volume pot). As well as any high quality speaker amplifier.

There are two versions available. The ECO Preamp has two stereo inputs in a smaller enclosure, while the ECO3 has three stereo inputs in a slightly larger enclosure. (For the exact dimensions of either version, click the 'options' panel below.)

Both versions use the same high quality passive design, precision controls and premium connectors. Neither requires a power supply.

The ECO allow you to select between your 'standard line level' audio sources (CD Player, Turntable with Phonostage, DAC etc) and feed a power amplifier while adjusting volume smoothly and precisely. With no active circuitry and no power supply required, they simply give you control of your system without adding to or changing the audio signals.

All connections use genuine Neutrik RCA connectors with full gold plating. The RCA sockets are fully isolated from the chassis to maintain proper grounding integrity.

At Temple Audio we have been developing and manufacturing high quality audio equipment for well over 15 years.

The ECO Preamp is a passive stereo pre-amplifier. It uses no active circuitry and requires no power supply.

Volume control is handled by a high quality Japanese ALPS potentiometer for accurate tracking and long-term reliability.

Input selection is made via a UK-made Lorlin rotary switch with silver plated contacts, providing a dependable connection.

Audio signals follow a 'fully soldered signal' path, soldered with Crystal solder. Which maintains a low impedance signal path even after decades of use.

The analogue components are placed at the rear of the chassis next to the connectors, for the shortest signal path. Long chromed steel rods are used to interface with the front panel knobs. Which is a design feature from high end Hifi that you normally never see at this price level.

Both control knobs feature knurled edges and are subtly recessed in to the front panel. They run on precision instrument bearings internally, giving a smooth, stable and accurate feel in use.

The ECO Preamp is designed for straightforward use in a high quality HiFi system.

Simply connect your stereo source equipment to the RCA inputs, connect the RCA output to your power amplifier, select the required source and adjust the volume to the desired listening level.

The ECO and ECO3 use a rotary input selector and an analogue volume control. Both controls are located on the front panel.

The passive design means that neither version requires a power supply.

The ECO Preamp is available in two versions. They use the same passive design and high quality components, but have different numbers of inputs and different enclosure sizes.

The ECO is the smaller version and provides two stereo RCA inputs. It is suitable when you have two source components that you want to connect to your amplifier.

The input selector allows you to select between off, input channel 1 and input channel 2.

ECO3 Preamp - 3 inputs

The ECO3 is the larger version and provides three stereo RCA inputs. It is suitable when you have three source components that you want to connect to your amplifier.

The input selector allows you to select between off, input channel 1, input channel 2 and input channel 3.
